Hi Dan,
ReplyDeleteI've tried this and the reported outcome is quite different from the actuality. That said, it is still a helpful feature.
I found after trying to copy files from my XP machine to a fresh Windows 7 some of the files were left behind. And the files were in my 'My Documents' directory so you expect that these files would be copied. Not perfect but a helpful feature nonetheless.
Stephen.
Hi Stephen,
ReplyDeleteI ran the tool from a Windows 7 to Windows 7 over the network and gave me the advanced option to choose exactly what I wanted to copy using checkboxes and all. I only wanted the profiles and their settings really, in fact I did uncheck a few of the files it wanted to copy cause I wanted to try it first, I thought at first it might take too long, but it didn't.
I haven't tried the Windows XP to 7, but I would expect the XP client to 7 would offer the same functionality...
