UMPC external keyboard

I've been looking for a nice compact, mini-keyboard to use with my Asus R2H - the Logitech Playstation USB keyboard reviewed on jkOnTheRun looks good, but I couldn't find it here in Europe.

If you've seen any good reviews, or if you already have one that you are happy with, please let me know.

Thanks.

  1. I travel QUITE often and have been using this one:

I got it at a better price on ebay just have to search for it. As for headphones, this seems to do it for me.

I use it with my phone and it auto switches. Got it pretty cheap too.. I believe it retails for $139 and I got it for $29 or so

  2. Thanks Alexander,

I don't travel that much, I would be more interested for a compact keyboard for ocassional posting and emailing and for installing say Vista or accesing the BIOs.

Nice headphones, I'll be looking into that, thanks for your suggestions.

  3. I have an external USB keyboard like the one Alexander recommends, but have not been able to access the BIOS (pressing the Fn & pulsating F2) as the R2H boots. Have you done it ?

  5. Hi Vic,

F2 is the key to enter BIOS.

If you press TAB at boot, you will see the actual boot messages, inluding the one for entering setup.

  6. Thw ThinkOutside Stowaway Sierra Bluetooth works well with the Asus R2H. It's a tad on the expensive side, but is worth it in my opinion.

Asus sells the Targus USB keyboard for about $US 35 and it isn't bad either.

Also check out CyberGuys.com. I don't know if they ship to Europe, but you might get a lead on a nifty small USB keyboard there.

  8. I currently use the ThinkOutside Stowaway BT external keyboard.

You can find them cheaper at various online merchants

It's quite durable and it's all housed in composite case.

It folds in half for travel and comes with a zip pouch.
It's not the cheapest, but worth the $

    Our 2¢'s
